FCC Fines Phone Companies for Unauthorized Charges

The Federal Communications Commission announced on June 16, 2011 that it has slapped  $11.7 million in fines on four companies accused of scamming their customers with unauthorized charges.    Service providers that engage in “cramming” will place unauthorized charges that can range from $1.99 up to $19.99 per month on a consumer’s voice bill.  Of course, service providers will bury these…read more →
